Position Description: The successful candidate will possess expertise and practical experience in electronic report and analytical graphics design, development, and construction using one or more of the Industry-standard Reporting Engines (e.g. Cognos, Business Objects, Crystal, ChartFX) as well as a strong working knowledge of SQL database design and be able to rapidly construct raw ANSI-standard SQL code and/or stored procedures to integrate, filter, and extract desired data from multiple tables. The candidate will have a working knowledge of remote database connection methodologies including but not limited to ODBC, ADO, and OLE, specifically as they apply to SQL and DB2-based databases as well as XML-based data. Candidate will have an understanding of performance metrics and optimally performance metrics associated with Help Desk, Network, and Information Technology operations. Optimally, the successful candidate will have a level of experience with web-delivery and portal-delivery of pre-designed and user-operated ad hoc reporting. The candidate will be required to have a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Operating Systems and Products, specifically but not limited to: Windows Server 2003, Windows XP SP2, Windows Office Suite (Access, Word, Excel, Powerpoint), and SharePoint WSS. Finally, the candidate must possess strong interpersonal and customer relations skills. Education: BS in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field. Significant work experience and completion of Technical courseware may be considered in lieu of or as an amplifier to traditional College courseware. Required Skills: Advanced data analysis, advanced electronic reporting and charting, SQL programming and query design/optimization, Metrics Development, Web-based reporting development, ETL design and development, Portal Integration of Reporting, Help Desk Operations. Location: The selected candidate will work primarily off-site, but must be within easy commuting distance of the DC Metro Area via car or public transportation. Additional non-local travel is not anticipated, but may be required on an infrequent basis.
